All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in collaboration with Vijnan Bharati (VIBHA) with support from many other lead government agencies involved in innovation and start up initiatives is organising National Start-up Summit-2017 under the aegis of India International Science Festival IISF 2017, http://scienceindiafest.org/. This is a joint mega event of Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences will be held during October 13th – 16th 2017 at Chennai.
A Start-up Contest-2017 is framed under the Start-up Summit 2017 to scout, award and support best start-ups happening in academic institutions across the country and reward best academic institutions supporting Start-up Ecosystem both in campus and regional level. Eventually, the shortlisted start-ups and institutions will get opportunity to attend and participate in Start-up Summit 2017 which will be held during 14th - 15th October, 2017 at Chennai.
In this regard, a letter from Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE is attached. You are requested to kindly disseminate across Institutes to encourage the student innovators, student entrepreneurs/early stage start-up, faculty led Start-ups and Start-ups supported in various universities and academic institutions to apply under appropriate contest categories latest by 31st of August 2017.
